Heroes of Taldor

A quartet of spiritual beings known as einherjar accompanied Ohalia on her quest to find Taldaris. Much like herself, each of these einherjar were once beings who served Taldor, or in some way have become part of the story of Taldor. During the ritual, they stood back and watched, but something of their nature could be seen. Formed from a gestalt force of potential, these einherjar are not the beings they represent, but like the much more powerful legends, are a copy. When terrible events occur in Taldor, such beings form to protect the land they once called home, even if their might never reaches the Material Plane.

Thestus Castello

A great warrior who spent his entire life in the World’s Edge Mountains battling the hordes of orcs and giants that besieged the settlements in the region.

Syfrid Vasileiou

A renowned prince of a tribe from Casmaron that warred with Taldor until his great-grandfather ended the conflict. His tribe would be overrun, along with most of Casmaron, by a horde of Rovagug worshippers. Syfrid would hold the line with the armies of Taldor and the Five Kings Mountains until the horde could be defeated.

He and several companions then went into the wilds in search of the foul cultist who led the horde. While he and his companions were never seen again, neither was the warlord they swore to destroy.

Irina Leomelas

A keen swashbuckler and adventurous lady of war, Irina served no fewer than three grand princes as their chosen champion. Dueling at the time was a normal way of settling disputes, and the grand prince was too important to risk. Legend has it that she accepted nearly four hundred duels in their name and never lost a single one.

Haruto

Along of Ohalia’s einherjar, Haruto is not Taldan. A kitsune samurai who served a long-forgotten Minkaian emperor, Haruto would defend his sovereign against the onslaught of Imperial Lung Wa for decades. It is believed that Haruto’s sacrifice at the Battle of Five Gates finally ended any attempts by Lung Wa to conquer Minkai, when he challenged one thousand Lung Wa soldiers to single combat and bested every one of them before finally succumbing to his wounds.

Thanks to his descendent’s involvement in the War for the Crown, his spirit has become attached to Taldor. While his spirit truly serves Minkai, when the tremors that rocked the Astral Plane alerted Ohalia to Taldari’s distress, his spirit joined her quest.
