Neoklis Carras is a paladin of Iomedae and a veteran of the Third, Fourth, and Fifth Mendevian Crusades. He was present at the destruction of Kenabres and marched with the heroes who would bring victory over the Worldwound on the fallen crusader city of Drezen. When the Worldwound was closed, he left Mendev to retire.
He found himself a cushy position as the chaplain at Castle Trant, but more importantly to him, he discovered his old friend Mauston Kustios was baron of Yanmass. He has spent a few months with his former comrade-in-arms and commander, using his paladin powers to help keep the disease ravaging Mauston at bay.
The party encounters him at Yan House, where he encourages the party to visit Castle Trant. He also mentions it is not far from Tallgrasses, the abandoned caravanserai where the bandits may be hiding. A journey to Tallgrasses from the castle might not be noticed by the lookouts keeping an eye on the city.
