Partulles is the only half-orc in Stachys. He lives alone in a run-down hovel outside the hamlet where he raises geese. Avoided by the locals, Partulles has never been trusted and after he was discovered burying the body of Ershal Sutor, he was arrested for the man’s murder. That the two were seen arguing earlier doesn’t help Partulles claims that he is innocent, that while he did take the man’s mule as recompense for the creature eating a bunch of his turnips, he has no idea how he died.
The party encountered Partulles at his trial. The party discovered that Ershal Sutor was killed by a kick to the head from his own mule, Chauncey. By using zone of truth and speak with animals the matter was definitively closed, with the people of Stachys grudgingly accepting that the half-orc is innocent.
After his trial and release, Partulles discovered that during his time in jail, his geese had flown the coop and his livelihood was gone. Rather than try to pick up the pieces or move along somewhere else, he took out his old uniform, polished the armor and presented himself to Alexander as Sergeant Mayne of the Pol Regiment of the Taldan Phalanx.
