The Legends
In the Astral Plane, motes of legends can form from the collective belief of mortals. These legends do not come from the souls of those who inspired them, but in many ways resemble them in life. The most powerful of these legends become something larger than life, many gravitating towards one another to build constellations on the Astral Plane.
These legends are built from the stories beloved by Taldans about some of the most consequential grand princes. While there is truth in their depictions, these legends are made by the minds of mortals and change according to the prevailing beliefs in these legends. Thus, a legend is never an accurate depiction of the real person, but it hardly matters because these are what people expect of their legends. They can be much stronger than in life, possessing great powers far beyond anything they could wield. Sometimes, the oldest and most powerful can be nearly unrecognizable when compared to their real life, becoming almost their own entities.
The legends below are those whose essence has been somehow “stitched” into the soul of Carrius by the Immaculate Circle. While all great men, most were arrogant, prideful, harsh, ruthless, or eccentric in various measures. Their individual ambitions and pride would prevent them from cooperating with other legends or with their comparatively weak host. No matter how skilled or dedicated these legends would be to Taldor, none would recognize it for how it is now, and all would compete viciously to seize control. The result would be not one mad grand prince, but seven mad grand princes, a situation that even a nation used to the madness of the Stavian line could not hope to endure.
