Campaign Advice
The following are guidelines to keep in mind when creating a character.
- The campaign is mostly indoors and underground.
- Undead are a major enemy type.
- Dungeon crawling and exploration are heavily featured, including traps and other hazards.
- Major religions in Osirion are Pharasma and Sarenrae, but most non-evil can be found there. The ancient Osirioni pantheon is making a small comeback, if you want to make a divine character who is a follower of one, talk to me.
- Characters should originate from the continent of Garund, preferably Osirion. Exceptions may be made if you have a great backstory to justify it. The races above list some ethnic groups for inspiration.
- While your character is 2nd level, they are not primarily an adventurer. They are more devoted to the acting troupe and their art.
Acting Troupe
All character are members of a traveling acting troupe called the Gilded Lotuses. The following guidelines will help you make a character who is part of this troupe
- You should be able to contribute to the production of plays in some way. Acting, making props, costumes, or even using magic to provide special effects are excellent choices. Characters may have secondary jobs in the troupe like being a guard, but this should not be their primary job.
- This troupe has been together for about a decade and traveled extensively across Osirion. Your character does not need to have been with them the whole time.
- Some roles in the group are filled by NPCs. If your character is intended to do the same job, then they will be working under the NPC in that role.
- Troupe leader
- Script writer
- Special effects
- Costumes
- Props
- Promoter
- Lead actor
- These are actors and other theater people, think big personalities. A little friction between such big personalities is acceptable.
- This is your character’s family. Whoever they are, they have found acceptance, a living, and maybe even love with this group. Regardless of their appearance, quirks, or past, they are family.
